Sorry i havnt searched as i dont know where to begin with this one. i presume this is what im looking for though? http://modxcms.com/bugs/task/825l   ?

Having used modx for years and to find this happening im shocked,

When i press save when performing any action in the in manager (whilst making a new template for example) the main frame of the manager loads the root index.php (my home page) inside it  huh Rather than redirecting to the admin area .  and the changes dont get committed . Its just broke ! and its a fresh install

Its very annoying and i cant save anything !!

    MODx 0.9.6
    Apache version 1.3.37 (Unix)
    PHP version 5.2.0
    MySQL version 5.0.27-standard
    Architecture i686
    Operating system Linux

Sounds like some mod_security related problems, or configuration issues with your .htaccess files. Have you renamed the ht.access to .htaccess in both the root (/) and the /manager directories?

Ive deleted all httacess files and turned friendly urls off.

Ive just noticed another thing, in the manager top frame, its loading into it my homepage !

          Very strange...

when i do manage to make a change, and it says,

          Action was completed successfully!
          - Please wait while MODx cleans up.

it then does a refresh and keeps refreshing the same message over and over and over untill i close the browser !

Perhaps one of the files is corrupt? Re-upload the manager and index files.

I’ve had fresh downloads that were extracted have a file corrupted when transferring to a server. Several other times that I can recall this has solved a completely mysterious problem for other folks. FTP isn’t the most robust transfer mechanism, but it sure does work almost all of the time. "Almost".

If it’s on a local machine, re-download the archive and try again.

It’s definitely got to be a configuration issue it sounds like then. I’d start by looking at your htaccess files and your paths inside the manager.
