    The Problem
Originally, I wanted User A to use TinyMCE and User B to use Ace. I found out how to change the user specific settings and managed to do so.

Now, both User A and User B use Ace. However, User A likes the theme "Clouds Midnight" while User B likes the default theme "Chrome". How can I make it so that User A gets the theme "Clouds Midnight"?

    What I've Done So Far

    • Logged in under User A, I went into the Plugin's Properties (Ace's Properties) and saw that the Default Properties were Locked.
    • Create a new Property Set and named it "dev".
    • Changed the Property "Theme" to "Clouds Midnight"
    • Saved the Plugin.
    • Cleared my Cache.

Now, when I go to edit a resource, the text editor's theme is is still "Chrome".

    Digging Some More...
Since that didn't work, I decided to find another way to make it work, so I went to Tools > Property Sets, opened the Property Set dev and clicked on the pluggin Ace.

On the right side, I see all of Ace's properties (from the Properties Set "dev") and the property "theme" has the value of "Clouds Midnight".

    Please Help!
Now I'm stuck, and I don't know what to do.

Is there anything that I'm doing wrong? Or am I forgetting some steps? Is there any way to say "User A uses Property Set dev" so that whenever User A uses Ace, he gets the theme "Clouds Midnight" while all other users get the default theme "Chrome"?

By the way... I'm using MODx Revo 2.2.0-pl2 (traditional)

Thank you for your help. [ed. note: jmbuytaert last edited this post 14 years, 6 months ago.]

Open up the plugin again and head to the system events page.

Sort the huge list on enabled ones (click on the enabled column header twice) and tell it to use your "dev" property set for the enabled events.

You. Rock. That's all I have to say. That, and thank you!
