    Hi,

I'm having a really unusual problem with SimpleSearch but I'm not 100% sure that the problem is actually SimpleSearch. I've used it a few times and it has been great and works without any problems. Now I have a site in MODX Revolution 2.2.0-pl2 (traditional) with SimpleSearch 1.5.2 that is behaving very strangely.

When I do a search from the site using SimpleSearch, the parameters are being passed over to the search results page without any problem and the search works fine but the results page has no CSS styling. It's like as if it is using the BaseTemplate... white background, nothing styled at all. If I view the page source, I can see everything. It's all there, stylesheet reference and everything. The source for the results page looks fine.

I thought initially that I had the wrong template selected for the results page but nope... not that. It's the same template that I'm using for the rest of the site. The results page is published and not visible in the menu. I've tried uninstalling SimpleSearch and re-installing it. No change!

Has anybody ever seen this or does anybody have any thoughts at all?

    Thanks a mil,

    M

      Hi michaelc,

Had a similar problem with that. I then realised that SimpleSearch does refer always to the "internal" Chunk "SearchForm". When I changed the Chunk in the elements tree with the same name, nothing happend.
I had to copy and rename it and point the snippet call to that Chunk. Then it worked.

Hope this points you in the right direction.

      Regards.
      f.

Thank you. I'll try that and see what happens.

Ok, that didn't work but I eventually found the problem and I'm updating in case anybody else ends up looking for it.

It was the 'Use Friendly Alias Path' (use_alias_path) setting. I changed it to 'No' and everything now works fine.
