The Articles Add on says I needto ad an earlier version of the addon via the package manager, however I can't find any instruction on how to do that.
The package manager doesn't give me any option to look or search for earlier versions.
Searching the site and forums also doesn't bring up any results
I'm sure this is a simple task, but unless someone actually describes how to do it, we're kinda left hanging.

Download the earlier version of the add on, extract it to a folder. You'll then see the transport.zip file for that package. Upload the extracted transport.zip file into core/packages.
Then in package management, click on the arrow on the "download extras" button, choose "search locally for packages". It should pull up your uploaded package. Install.

yeh I found instructions by doing a Google search

One extra point it seems you have to completely remove recent versions before the old versionwill show up in the package manager.
Uninstalling it is not enough, you have to remove it after you've uninstalled it. (Sounds strange I know, but don't ask me why)

Dangit! I'm consistently a day late and a dollar short for you :~}
Package management defaults to the latest version. As you upgrade packages it doesn't remove the old transport.zip files from core/packages. In the manager however, it lists the package name regardless of version and the version installed is listed in the next column. So it actually does make sense since package management ignores previous versions and always shows the currently installed one.
