Hi, just starting with Revo 2.2 after using Evo for years.

Anyway, I want to create a template folder, and according to the docs i can do this by creating a Media Resource, which I've done, and it says I then should see the new folder under /assets in the root directory

but there's nothing there under assets except the components file.

Anyone know how to actually do this?

Thanks [ed. note: markg last edited this post 14 years, 6 months ago.]

Just create a "templates" folder under the assets directory and another for your template and all the template related files (css, js, etc.). Then, make the resource in question (a page, snippet, chunk, etc.) static ("is static" checkbox) and then set it to whichever file you want to use as the source. Once you make a resource static, the field appears where you can set the file you want to use. Switch tabs and then back if it doesn't automatically appear but it should show right up.

        Yeh Frogabog,

I kinda figured it out by ignoring the documentation, that was giving me the wrong direction.

I think I did what you suggested. I just created the folder outside of the Modx interface and dragged all my files into it. Then hey presto it appears in the Modx Tree.

Manged to create the template with chunks and it all works. I probably did it arse backwards, but hey that's usually the beauty of Modx.

Backwards was my thought too but I declined to mention it. Docs are often a little vague. Glad to hear you're on the straight and narrow now. Static resources makes development slick and simple, although an includeTemplate snippet still comes in handy now and again.
