Sql query to select

I am trying to query the following get all records for today a week and a month here is my sql so far

modx->query("SELECT id, COUNT(tid) AS total FROM trending_counter WHERE created > ".strtotime("-1 days")." GROUP BY id ORDER BY total DESC LIMIT 10");

Basically what I am looking for is a $modx->query that will return the latest content added for this week. Or a $modx->query that will add for today and month
