I’m using 0.9.6 (just upgraded this morning) and have recently tried to use unique CAPTCHA codes. The manager and eForm were both working fine with the default codes, but when I use my own, I get the error message:

    Manager Login Error:
The security code you entered didn’t validate! Please try to login again!
    and

    Feedback Form Submission Error:
Some errors were detected in your form:
    Invalid verification code.

You can view the eForm and test it here » http://rialto.s451.sureserver.com/contact.html

Any insight on how to fix would be greatly appreciated. Or, if all else fails, does anyone know what the default CAPTCHA words are? I suppose I could just put those back in and live with it. But, I can’t seem to find those either.

    Thanks.

I’m not sure if this is related, but the validator is spitting out a character encoding mismatch:

The character encoding specified in the HTTP header (utf-8) is different from the value in the XML declaration (iso-8859-1). I will use the value from the HTTP header (utf-8).

When entering your custom Captcha Codes directly into the database with phpmyadmin, is it still giving you the error?

I’m using custom codes with 0.9.6 myself, without any trouble.

hmm...I just tried entering the codes directly with phpmyadmin - but got the same result.

Then...I put new codes in: cow, dog, fish // and it worked!

so, naturally I put the existing codes in: Rialto, Food, Dinner, Lunch, Brunch, Steak, Denver, Cafe, Happy, Salad, Wine, Drink

And it didn’t work again. So, that makes me crazy. It does work when the CAPTCHA is Rialto. Hmm...I says to myself. Why is that? Is it because the words need to be a certain length? No. My mistake was that I had spaces after the commas, so the CAPTCHA code was " Food329" not "Food329" as I had entered.

Long story short, I just needed to take out the spaces after the commas and all is good. Thanks for trying to solve my mistake nightsignals, but I should have known.

Not sure what the validator error is all about though - I’ll look into that.

Well, figuring out things like that definitely identifies us as human life forms ... wink

Well, you probably could just switch to utf-8 completely. But there are some other errors ...

I’m still in development - so I haven’t had time to get everything to validate out, but plan to get as clean as possible for going live.

            Thanks again.
