Photo Gallery add-on not installing and generating message

I'm trying to install a photo gallery on Modx Revolution, v. 2.0.8 - pl traditional, for my client. I've downloaded the Gallery 1.5.0-rc1 package from the modx site. It downloads successfully but when I try to install it, the installation doesn't complete, it seems to get stuck in a loop or I don't see anything happening. When I click "finish" it tries to install it again and gives me the following message below (it's a long message and starts from Modx Console Output).

Things I've tried. Removing the package and reinstalling, clearing the cache, but open to suggestions. I'm also open to trying a different add-on as long as the client can create galleries and upload their pictures and they display in a nice format.

Gallery 1.5+ only supports MODX 2.2+ and greater.

Try installing 1.4.0 instead: http://modx.com/extras/package/gallery?version=4e774ba2f245545dc5000104

how do I revert to the old gallery - package management will only let me install Gallery1.5
