What is the best way to update Articles to the newest version. In my package management the "Check for Updates" button is not there at all.
Should I uninstall it all and reinstall?

What MODX version are you using? The latest update for Articles (1.5.1-pl)is only for Revo 2.2.1. You might want to check that you've got the right articles version installed for your Revo version. Revo 2.2.0 should be using Articles 1.4.7-pl.
edit: still asleep apparently... fixed the Revo version numbers above.

I'm running 2.2.1 and was told to upgrade Articles to the version that came out earlier today but I don't get the button to upgrade it in packages. I tried the uninstall button but nothing happened at all. I gave it some time thinking about it was running the process and not refreshing the screen but nothing.

Did the articles TV's disappear after you ran the uninstall? Check the core/components directory for the articles folder and files. Also, there might be a folder under assets/components as well. If neither of those locations have files, it probably uninstalled and you can then delete the articles.transport.zip file from the core/packages folder.
Then download articles again in package manager and try to install.
If you still see the files in the above folders, I'd try deleting them all, then the articles package in core packages. Then I'd download articles 1.4.7, and place the transport.zip file into packages. Open package management, click the arrow next to the download packages button, choose local packages. The 1.4.7 articles should show up. Install. The upgrade button should show up then.
It'd be a good idea to clear the cache right before you re-install 1.4.7 as well. I'd do it manually by deleting everything in the core/cache directory as opposed to through the manager.
I can't guarantee this will work but it's how I'd try it.
I haven't had ANY success with 2.2.1 and packages even in a fresh install. Errors everywhere, something to do with package metadata that can't be downloaded for articles, quip, and a few others, default user authentication for xpdo, and other errors. Just wrong wrong wrong. I couldn't even begin to debug it all. I'm happy with 2.2.0 for the moment and won't be upgrading the two sites that run it just yet but I'm going to try an upgrade on a dev site.
