Ok, I have a news/blog page with articles submitted via a NewsPublisher form - No problem so far
On the main page Ditto displays not only a title and summary of the article but also the publisher and date+time etc. - Fine

The question is how do I add these pices of information to the actual news document? My first assumption was to add a Ditto call so I could use the same placeholders but I couldn’t figure out how to limit Ditto to display from only the current article without manually setting it for each and every one which is no good.

The second idea was to edit the NewsPublisher template but I cannot figure where or how (if that is the correct method). Then even if I did I don’t think I would know what to add because there are no simple placeholders for that info (author and date+time) I assume in NewsPublisher. I figured out the templates/methods for every other snippit but this one alludes me.

If anyone could point me in the direction of the way to solve this (add date+time and author to article automatically) that would be fantastic.

I can’t imagine this is complex? I just want an article published by NewsPublisher to display the user name of the person who wrote it and the time and date it was published (submitted) along side the content. Maybe my previous post wasn’t clear I have a feeling I over explained things.

Thanks guys for the help anyway.

edit: oops and I ment to say I want it to be automatic.

Thanks, that wasn’t really the answer, however it lead me right down the path of playing around with filtering in Ditto and that was the answer, now my Ditto call shows only the info for the current doc.
        &filter=`id,[*id*],1`

Finally, and so simple, I love Modx

        Thanks again.
