    Hello fellow Modx-ers,

I seem to be stuck in a rut.  I’m trying to give my page two editable sections, ([*content*] for the first one), but I can’t figure out for the life of me how.  Maybe it’s lack of sleep or the fact I’ve been editing the crap out of everything today, but I have a sidebar and a main section.  I hard-coded in the [*content*] section, and when I go to edit the page through Manager, that works fine and dandy, but how would I add a second edit box for the sidebar part?

I’m using .9.7, if that matters..
I haven’t changed any of the backend stuff, just my pages.

    Thanks in advance!

    Brad

You can use a template variable.

Go to manage resources, template variables and make a new one, giving it whatever name and make it text or rich text.
Make sure you tick the box to allow for your page template.

Go to your page template and add the variable [*YourVar*] in your side bar where you want the editable content, then when you edit your page you’ll have two sections.

Thank you SO much for your response. It worked perfectly, and now I have sidebar content and main content smiley Appreciate it greatly!
