I have come from another site where I spent considerable time and it dealt with much code[copy and paste

]. On that site it was always reccomended to use the code tags[ insert code#] so the code was in a codebox and could be control clicked and pasted with the formatting intact. This does not seem to be the case here---especially when the code falls outside the box--which happens alot.
It makes the great tutorials kind of a hassle....
Am I missing something.How do you copy and paste from wikimedia---how to handle code that falls outside the box. Is there a way to copy and paste code and have the code remain formatted/structured? I can reformat it in pspad and copy that reformatted code into my editor of choice,but that seems like it should be unnecessary.
an example is here on this page
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Tabbed_content
the first box[simple] is copy and pasted to give me this,and it does not look as bad here as in the editor.
<div id="tabs"> <div id="nav"> </div> <div id="data"> </div> </div>
after reformatting in pspad i get this---like it is on the tutorial and much easier to follow.The tutorials[Much gratitude to sottwell imparticular for the great work....

]
are mandatory imo.
<div id="tabs">
<div id="nav">
</div>
<div id="data">
</div>
</div>
which one is better to work on????
If I focus the cursor on the code box ansd choose select all it selects the whole page---not just the box....
Any help/suggestions would be welcome. I hope I am missing something
Thanks
