    I'm using Revolution 2.2.0-pl2.
hey everyone. i'm new to modx and ran into this problem when building my first modx site.
when I move my template variables into a template variable category folder(I did this to keep my tvs organized), the tv inputs do not output to the templated page. When I take the tvs out of category folders they work as they are supposed. Is there something I have to do to make my tvs output to the templated page normally while keeping them in a tv category folder or is this a Revo bug?

I can make the site work without housing my tvs in category folders but it would be nice to make this work for organizational puposes.

Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

It shouldn't make any difference. Have you created any Element Category Access ACL entries?

Did you clear the cache after moving them? You may have to manually delete all files in the core/cache directory.

hey bobray thanks for the reply. i did clear the cache several times just in case but still none of my tvs would output to the page. the second i moved the tvs out of the folder they appeared. i'm so new to modx i don't even know what element access ACL entries are. i'm pretty sure i did not create any. regarding manually deleting all files in the core/cache, there are several folders in core/cache containing php files. should i be deleting all the folders found in core/cache?

hey bobray, based on your comment about ACL entries I went looking under system settings and in the Authentication and Security area found a setting called Check Category Access with key name
access_category_enabled. This was set to yes so I changed it to no and now my tvs nested in categories are outputting on the pages they are assigned as they should, thanks.

That suggests that there is an Element Category Access ACL entry for the category the TVs are in for some user group other than the one the user is in (or it's a bug).
