    Hi, I'm using revo 2.2.0pl and had installed it on a new cpanel host account, always accessing modx by using ip-address/~username/manager, whilst i developed the site.

    Now the site is just about ready, the client domain has been pointed to the new modx site and it is live. However, i notice that all the url's for every page of the site show the same temporary domain in the address bar as ip-address/~username instead of the actual live domain.. & i actioned Freiendly URL's which do appear to be showing, so now all pages in the address bar are-

    ip-address/~username/my-chosen-furls.html

    I'm guessing maybe i need to change a setting somewhere but can't figure it out, such as re-naming what has been a temp-url whilst developing to replacing it with the actual domain name.

    Any replies would be a great help.

      Maybe you need to change the path in the config files:

        Thanks. I think i've avoided that guide before due to it's title- moving your site to a new server. I didn't think i fitted into that bracket since all sites start on a sub domain / temp url (for me anyway as i place new sites into my own hosting accounts). When they're ready, i'd publish live. With no programmer mind- set, i'll need to study thru it in detail since i don't want any mistakes on a live site.

          Maybe you need to change only the files in the "Updating your Config Files" section of that page, and the .htaccess file.

            Did you run Setup after installing the site? That usually straightens out the paths.

              I've updated the following as per link instructions,

              /* PATHS */
              $modx_core_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/';
              $modx_processors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/model/modx/processors/';
              $modx_connectors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/connectors/';
              $modx_manager_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/manager/';
              $modx_base_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/';
              $modx_assets_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/assets/';

              /* HOST (used for command-line PHP stuff) */
              $http_host='yoursite.com';

              On my own version i could see my site username on each line, i replaced this with my domain name. Now the site doesn't display at all, like it's missing the css file..

              I copied back in the original code, and when i hit save i now get an error message that reads 'processor not found: update' & still the site won't display.. all on a new client site that went live just hours ago. Ouch!

                Bob, when you say run set up.. i already did that at the very start installing modx revo 2.2.0pl on a temp domain in order to build up the site. Now that the site is built, it published fine apart from the url reading the temp domain still (ip-address/~username/and-then-my-seo-furls-showing-here). When i say published fine, i mean i pointed client domain to it.

                Since trying to amend this now the site isn't displaying at all, well the html text is, but as you can imagine, without images and css it looks crazy

                  I've just viewed the source code using firebug and can see for some reason the base url has changed to
                  <base href="http://ip-address-here/my-domain-name-here/">

                  Could changing this get the site displaying correctly again? & if so, how and where do i change it?

                      Urgent help needed, all resources and elements have disappeared and site not showing at all (i amended re-write base back to / ~username as it had been originally). Changing it back again makes no difference
