Evo - can not get past the login page, but I do have ftp access. Can't get to the cPanel/phpMyAdmin section from work (port blocked), just in case I need to check something there.

What could be causing this issue?

ok. Apparently no one has any idea or comment to make relating to this. Will have to migrate the site content over to Drupal or Wordpress, I guess. Frustrating.

If it helps, I can give the login access I am trying, to someone who might have an idea.

Able to access PHPMyAdmin from home, and pull content form the DB.

I think the 'evo people' are all busy wondering where evo is going...

So you have an evo install (you don't say which version - not that it would help me since I am 99% a revo user)
And it seems to have some content (gathered from the third post since you talk about migrating the content to another cms
That implies the login has worked in the past - so the first question has to be: Did you do something right before this first happened? Or Have you just forgotten your username or password? It is possible with database access to create a new user with a known password.

I haven't noticed many similar threads to this for evo - but I tend to ignore evo threads since I do not use it. Someone is likely to need a bit more info in order to help you.

Thanks for the reply whistemaker...wondering if anyone was even reading this. Soooo frustrating.

Yes, it has worked perfectly fine for well over 1.5 yrs. Logged in fine, up until about two weeks ago.

I've gone into the DB, and manually create a user, multiple times. Still no go. Not forgotten the pw - when I put it in correctly, it just reloads the page. Incorrectly, prompts that the info is incorrect.

            thx

              Personally I would:

              Backup the database
Backup any images, pdfs etc (this would be my assets folder)
Do an upgrade install (well not an upgrade - but a reinstall)

              Good Luck

Could be a lot of things. My expertise is also very much Revo, but I suppose parts of the login system work the same, still.

Here's some things I can think of you can check:

                - Clear browser cookies, restart browser and try again.
                - Try to login with firebug open on the "net" tab and make sure it's recording the requests. Check out the POST to the manager page, and see the headers it is returning. Pretty sure there should be a "setcookie" one there which has a random string identifying the session, and possible a path as well as optionally something forcing it to be secure. Does the path match your install?
                - What version of Evo is it running? Saying it worked fine 1.5yrs could mean we're on pre-1.0.0, in which case I wouldn't rule out exploits.
                - Again related to the above question, newer versions of PHP (>5.2) don't run well with I think < Evo 1.0.2 - check if your host changed anything over the past weeks, such as upgrading php.

Depending on the exact symptoms (does it always return the same error with correct or false passwords, or never any error) you could also check if the MySQL connection is still working, if you can reset the password using the utility on the manager screen, if there are any user groups assigned to your user account allowing you to login to the backend etc.
