Does anybody have any suggestions for searching within the content of .pdf files?

Apache Solr has the ability of indexing pdf, and assuming it's set up on the server it should be easy enough to set up with SimpleSearch according to its docs: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/SimpleSearch.Solr
