Hi,
I have used file upload and file download snippets in my site for pdf datasheets.
When the user clicks on the download it automatically opens in another window/pdf reader.
I would like for it to open up in the site template where the content area is.
Is this possible?
Oh, PS. All those problems I was having before with the user access and permissions was all solved with the latest modx update.
Thanks,
Malissa

I am not aware of a way to open a PDF within the content ([*content*]). Have you seen any other sites where this works?

I don’t believe there are any browsers that allow you to do this without the use of flash assistance (flash imports the PDF then displays it in a flash file). The best default case is browsers that will open the PDF in the browser and many force you to open the PDF in an external viewer.
The only viewers I know of like this are commercial products however.

You could make your content area to be in an iframe and then the pdf would open in it when clicked.

This would not work for browsers that do not support inline viewing however.
