Access denied while editing resources on multiple context setup

Any chance mod_security is running on your server? Does your user group have edit_document checked?

The edit_document was checked and i got thesame problem.

Jay, my setup looks almost identical to alyainec's screenshots -- same exact error -- so I won't post more.

I'm on Blue Host, and they aren't running mod_security. I've had a great experience with their customer service and with running MODX with them, btw.

I can confirm that Bluehost (http://bit.ly/Hb5CAY ) works great with MODX.


Do you have a Context Access ACL entry for each group that gives them access to the Context with the problem resources with a Policy that includes edit privileges?

Are the resources also protected by being in Resource Groups? If so, you also need a Resource Group Access ACL entry for the users with a Policy of Resource.

what I am not seing is what Bob has asked about which is context access. This is definitely an ACL config issue and not likely a bug.

I have two Context Access ACLs for that group: one for mgr that uses your "AdminLite" approach (and edit_document is checked) from RTFM, and a second for the problem context. For the latter I've tried both Load/List/View (per your documentation) and "AdminLite". I'm flushing permissions, logging in and out with the problem user between tries, and even loading the problem user's manager via Chrome Incognito mode, and still I have the problem.

Currently, I don't have any Resource Groups set up. I did try setting one up to see if that was the problem, but it had no effect on solving it.

No, we're looking for a shot of the Context Access ACL grids for the user groups with users who are having the problem.

Make sure you've gotten rid of all your resource groups and Resource Group Access ACL entries so they don't confuse the issue. Also, in addition to flushing permissions, log out by using Security | Flush All Sessions whenever you make a change.

I was fairly certain that's what I was showing you. Here, new screenshot, zoomed out a little. Also including the problem user's Access Permissions, so you can see they're part of the group in question.

Sorry, you're right. I'm not used to looking at them with all the permissions exposed.

See if changing the policy to Administrator solves the problem.
