CMP in 2.2

Hey all,

Been trying to get a Custom manager page to work in 2.2 using the doodles tutorial:

I think it's great the tutorial was updated to use the new classes in 2.2 but the problem is, I can't get it to work. If I go to my cmp in the manager, nothing appears. No grid, no error message, nothing. It's like the javascript isn't loading or something. I've checked my code for errors several times. Even downloaded the doodle files and checked again, but still nothing.

One thing though, I'm running my modx install on my local machine. Don't think it has anything to do with it, but I'm not totally sure so I thought I would mention it.

Before I go on wasting my hours at looking at the code even more, I was wondering if anybody has any idea of what I could be doing wrong...

I have the same problem. On mine it seems to be because of the index.class.php and home.class.php (some includes are missing I think) but i'm still unable to get it work neither

Someone knows how to fix that ?

That's a very open ended question lol.

There's many ways to debug. When working with ExtJS you'll soon start to love Firebug. If there's any JS errors popping up there, that's probably the problem.

If nothing seems to be registered to the screen (ie the js/css files you are registering in your controller are not on the page when you view source), check the error log via Reports > Error Log.

That should get you started to find out where the problem is. I agree just staring at the code wont do much good - you need the pointers on *where* to look.

I get this error with Firebug : Ext.layout is undefined

But I can't find this Ext.layout

Hmm, does the rest of the manager work at all? Are you seeing the sidebar / topmenu?

If it's an issue in the entire manager you can try disabling JS and CSS compression by setting compress_js and compress_css to 0 in the database and clearing the core/cache/system_settings folder.

The rest of the manager works on Chrome, but it gets Firefox down even for the login page.

Have you cleared the MODx cache?

Also try Firefox in "Private Mode" or whatever its called to see if its the local cache. Take note Manager can easily break with JavaScript errors.

Works well in private mode !
