I recently upgraded MODX to 2.2.0-pl2. The version of TinyMCE I was using (4.1.2-rc1) was using deprecated methods. I upgraded TinyMCE to the latest version, but not it is not working. It is not converting the text editor to TinyMCE.

Check your console to see if there is an error being thrown otherwise the specific page you are editing/creating might have Rich Text turned off.

Rich Text is on and it shows there basic editor with bold, italic, underline, strike through, and lists.
I cleared my error log, then went to a page and checked, then went back and there is no error being thrown.
So I have TinyMCE installed, and the settings have it choosen as the editor to use but when I go to a page it just shows the basic editor, not tinymce - really frustrating.

What about inside your console? is there any JS error? btw what is the basic editor?

This looks like the mbstring extension is missing. Enable it or install it for you PHP install.
This is now working. Through a series of odd events, I accidently deleted part of the /core folder, quickly reuploaded it (not 100% sure what was lost), re-ran setup, reinstalled addons = magic it was working again.
TinyMCE also has problem on Evolution all version with Firefox 11.0. While I am trying to update contents on site with duel rich text, then it display blank on Resource content, however I will able to view content with HTML view source.
