    Hello

i’ve been using MODx for some time now, and just recently noticed that on quite a few of the installations i have of MODx there seems to be some weird files generated in the root of the install - these are normally around 50 meg in size, and end in .core

anyone else encountered these? or have an idea of why they could be being generated?

    cheers
    graham

That’s a core dump indicating a crash of one of the server components, most likely Apache. Are running 095 or above?

These are core dump files...it likely means Apache is crashing and could be the result of any number of incompatible settings, a general misconfiguration of PHP, or any number of other things...

yup running 095 where it is occuring... is there anyway of finding out what is causing Apache to crash?

          thanks for the help.

Delete the template switcher plugin completely ... that’d be my first guess.
