    hi...

I've done multiple sites with MODX, and i managed to solve all obstacles i encountered. The biggest problem was the problem with multiple resources in one container ... for example "News", "References List", "Products" ect ... Basicly all content wich has multiple subcontents. On front end is simple to handle it, but in backend left tree menu is problematic, so i'm wondering how others solve such situations?

For my personal project i created a costom DB in wich i stored a list of my references ... i made a simple script in frontend to add or edit resources .. if something goes wrong i ca correct it with phpMyAdmin directly in DB... anway this is not the solution to give a client.

The best solution for me will be, if you can set to a resource that doesn't display sub-resources in tree but in main window, where you can add / edit or delete them ...

What can i do about it?

    1. Is there some addon i don't know to handle multiple resources in backend or i have to write my own?
    2. What are the other options?

    thanks for advice

Which version of MODx? Revo 2.2 solves this problem with its custom resource type "Articles".

With Evo you could use custom tables (or files) and create a module to manage them with paging. It would be easy enough to clone the manager/actions/mutate_content.dynamic.php and the manager/processors/save_content.processor.php files, editing them to make use of your custom table. Then in the module they would perfectly mimic the regular resource editing pages. You would have to create your own list, though, generating the correct URLs to trigger the custom editing page. For Revo, there is soon MIGXdb available (github-version is working nice, but need some more testing and docu), where its possible to manage resources and custom-tables in a TV.

Sort of an Articles-in-a-TV then? Interesting.

Actually, what's really needed is some kind of AJAX lazy-loading, or paging with a simple "next" link for the Tree. Any branch longer than x number of items would page.

                I use latest revolution 2.2

I saw addon "Article", but i couldn't try it because i have installation problems ..

xPDOVehicle validator failed: type php (/home/website/public_html/modx/mxcore/packages/articles-1.4.7-pl/xPDOTransportVehicle/946c977347acc03a7046b7ee1638bfbe.validate.archivist.validator)
Could not validate vehicle: Array ( [license] => GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENS.....

Anyone had similar problem? .. i try to update it and reinstall it again .. same problem .. Module elements are installed but i don't know if all works as it should .. i'll test it

Anyway, i'll also check it out MIGXdb, but i hate that i need 3rd party solutions for such basic thing. Why MODX doens't have the option to display resources in main window ... simple and elegant solution for multiple resources.

                  @theuros:

Looks like the check for downloaded versions of the Archivist-extra failed (src). Do you already have Archivist installed or downloaded, a lower version than 1.2.2-pl? Might help to update/uninstall/delete package from core/packages.

                  On the issue itself:
I think this is a major problem at the moment and it would be nice to have a solution in the core for this. For myself it would be sufficient to have a version of Articles that doesn't come bundled with Quip, Archivist and Taglister.
