It appears that there is a problem with Firefox 8 and above. Check out the Facebook Like button here and you'll see what I mean.

As far as I can tell, the problem is a new security "feature" that blocks certain types of functions called from a domain other than the one the page itself is from. The button works fine on the Facebook site, but doesn't work anywhere else that I've been able to find. It throws the error when attempting to fetch the number of likes, causing a repeated attempt to open the popup for the commenting (or something like that, anyway). The Facebook login popup works fine. Initial page load always shows 0 likes.

So far there doesn't seem to be any response from Mozilla, although there's plenty of squawking all over the Internet.
Some have claimed it's an issue with Firebug, but apparently that's not the problem.
