    Hi, I'm new to MODX and just built a site. Everything is great except that my URL looks a little funky. Example: http://www.jakks.com/~jakksc5/jakks.com/pokemon.html

    It should just read http://www.jakks.com/pokemon.html as I've turned on friendly urls and have the "Use friendly alias path" set to "no".

    On my server, the site is contained in a folder named jakksc5 because we have many domains on one server.

    Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

      Looks like you built it on a development url and accessed it by/~jacksc5 ?

      If so you will need to update the config file in core/config/ ( theres a few places in there to update the paths, once you have done that delete everything in the cache folder.

        Thanks Paulp. That is exactly what I did. I'm not really sure which to change though. Am I just looking for ~jakksc5 and eliminate it? Here are the lines that contain urls. Any help would be great.

        if (!defined('MODX_CORE_PATH')) {
        $modx_core_path= '/home/jakksc5/public_html/jakks.com/core/';
        define('MODX_CORE_PATH', $modx_core_path);
        }
        if (!defined('MODX_PROCESSORS_PATH')) {
        $modx_processors_path= '/home/jakksc5/public_html/jakks.com/core/model/modx/processors/';
        define('MODX_PROCESSORS_PATH', $modx_processors_path);
        }
        if (!defined('MODX_CONNECTORS_PATH')) {
        $modx_connectors_path= '/home/jakksc5/public_html/jakks.com/connectors/';
        $modx_connectors_url= '/~jakksc5/jakks.com/connectors/';
        define('MODX_CONNECTORS_PATH', $modx_connectors_path);
        define('MODX_CONNECTORS_URL', $modx_connectors_url);
        }
        if (!defined('MODX_MANAGER_PATH')) {
        $modx_manager_path= '/home/jakksc5/public_html/jakks.com/manager/';
        $modx_manager_url= '/~jakksc5/jakks.com/manager/';
        define('MODX_MANAGER_PATH', $modx_manager_path);
        define('MODX_MANAGER_URL', $modx_manager_url);
        }
        if (!defined('MODX_BASE_PATH')) {
        $modx_base_path= '/home/jakksc5/public_html/jakks.com/';
        $modx_base_url= '/~jakksc5/jakks.com/';
        define('MODX_BASE_PATH', $modx_base_path);
        define('MODX_BASE_URL', $modx_base_url);
        }

        ...

        if (!defined('MODX_ASSETS_PATH')) {
        $modx_assets_path= '/home/jakksc5/public_html/jakks.com/assets/';
        $modx_assets_url= '/~jakksc5/jakks.com/assets/';
        define('MODX_ASSETS_PATH', $modx_assets_path);
        define('MODX_ASSETS_URL', $modx_assets_url);
        }

          You just need to remove "/~jakksc5" from the above code. It's under the Connectors Path, Manager Path, Base Path, and Assets Path.

          Save the file and you should be good to go, if not just clear the cache and it should resolve any lingering issues.

            Thanks AMDbuilder, but when I remove just "/~jakksc5" from the 4 spots where it appears, the site continues to work with the strange URL, but I can no longer get to the manager to clear the site's cache. Am I doing something wrong? So I put my backup file back in place temporarily so that I can get to the /manager.

              Delete everything within the cache folder via FTP after removing the /~jakksc5
