    Hi,

This is my second go at Modx I never really got my first issue solved so I took on another approach.

I am attempting Modx again and am installing a fresh instal, new DB and all. But it is giving me a "table prefix error", error is as follows...

"Checking table prefix ``: Failed! - Table prefix does not exist in this database!"

I am very new to SQL so I know for some this is a very simple question, how would I find the table prefix name or how can I create one?

Thank you for your help in advance.

on the screen where you enter your database details while installing modx, there is a field for the table prefix. it defaults to modx_. if you leave that in, it should work (if there are no other tables prefixed with modx_ in your db).

Table prefix isn’t really an SQL feature. It’s simply a way of organizing all the MODx tables so they all start with the same string (a prefix). It’s kind of an unwritten standard for all CMS apps to have a prefix so that a user could be running multiple applications off the same database.

Long story short, keep the table prefix as ’modx_’ and you’ll be find wink
