I’m looking for a ditto blog example of how to set up a blog similiar to a standard blog with sidebar having categories, count, archives, recent posts, recent comments, i’ve been searching for some examples but have not found any with a standard blog setup, is there anyway someone could add to the ditto example a standard blog setup ? I’m 3 hairs away from using wordpress for the blog section of site, he he, i really don’t want to and would rather keep as much in modx as possible, the temptation of easy 123 vs manually coding the entire setup can tear at a modx user smiley The ditto documenation is like reading something from NASA

Try a new install with the demo content for starters, since that’s got most of what you’re looking for already done. Then look at the ditto.modxcms.com support site for tutorials/examples/screencasts.

did that but the examples are not typical blog setup, mostly ditto parameter documentation, i think what ditto is missing is a more visual representation vs code only

        sidebar >>

        categories with count
        archive by month
        recent post
        recent comment

these items seem simple to create but with ditto there’s appears to be some necessary fiddling needed in order to get it looking the way it should, i’m reading all the documentation and trying to make sense of it, would be great if the examples showed what a typical WP blog would have that way its not too complicated to set it up.

I notice on the Modxcms blog it doesn’t appear like a typical blog with categories, etc it doesn’t have that blog feel smiley this is unfortunate I think because a blog is a blog and a web page is a web page, a blog should take the reader to another level more personal.

One thing i found when trying to do an archive instead of the months it shows the categories instead
