    Hi,
I’ve just started my small project and want to use MODx CMS,
but I have problems with directory permissions on sourceforge.net:

    Checking PHP version: OK!
Checking if sessions are properly configured: OK!
Checking if assets/cache directory exists: Failed!
Checking if assets/cache directory is writable: Failed!
Checking if assets/cache/siteCache.idx.php file is writable: Failed!
Checking if assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php file is writable: Failed!
Checking if assets/images directory exists: OK!
Checking if assets/images directory is writable: Failed!
Checking if assets/export directory exists: OK!
Checking if assets/export directory is writable: Failed!
Checking if manager/includes/config.inc.php exists and is writable: Failed!

I found this in sf.net documentation:

    File and Directory Permissions

The project web server operates under the ’nobody’ user, who is not a member of your
project team (and thus, is not a member of your project UNIX group). The following file
and directory permissions requirements should be observed:

    * All content on the project web servers that needs to be read by the project web servers must be world readable.
    * All content on the project web servers that needs to be written by the project web servers must be world-writable
and be placed under the /tmp/persistent directory (create a subdirectory for use by your project files).
    * The ’nfsnobody’ user is equivalent to the ’nobody’ user.
and I tried to make symlinks from /tmp/some_dir to ./assets/cache and "chmod a+rwxt" etc. but this don’t work.

Please, could somebody help me with this?

// Edit: Sorry for noise, I misunderstand sf.net documentation.
    Solution:

    mkdir /tmp/persistent/your_dir/cache
    mkdir /tmp/persistent/your_dir/export
    mkdir /tmp/persistent/your_dir/images

(... copy files from cache, export, images to that directories above ...)

    cd /tmp/persistent/your_dir/
    chmod a+rwxt ./*

and than symlink it to your_www_dir/assets
