    Hi There,

I'm working on a MODx site where users can signup and get their own profile. In the members section they can add images and videos to their profile via a form.

Once they submit the form it posts to a page with my snippet which uses the API to create a resource. I've got default fields like the title and description working, and template variables as well - the one thing I can't work out is how to generate the alias for the resource.

I have auto generate alias turned on, but it doesn't seem generate aliases created using the API.

I've searched the forums, and the closest I found to answer was this:

    https://forums.modx.com/thread/29150/solved-how-to-generate-the-alias-using-the-api#dis-post-157557

But that post is two years old and I was wondering if there is a simpler way to do it now? Is creating a plugin the only way to deal with this?

    Cheers,

    Tom
