I have recently changed the domain for an existing website running under MODx Revo v2,2

The problem is that I did not clear the site's cache prior to this change.

I made the necessary file changes for the physical path to be correct, so I am able to login to the Manager itself, but in every Manager page I get the message
"Could not find action file at: /var/www/vhosts/letsgreece.gr/httpdocs/manager/controllers/default/XXX.php"
(at the Dashboard page for example, I get the message "Could not find action file at: /var/www/vhosts/letsgreece.gr/httpdocs/manager/controllers/default/welcome.php")

Is there anyway I can clear the cache manually by deleting certain files of folders? Or there is nothing to be done and have to reinstall the Site?

Thank you in advance for your reply

You can clear the cache by logging into your FTP and deleting everything in the core >> cache folder, have you updated all the paths in core >> config >> config.inc.php as theres a few in there.

        Thank you for your reply!

I had already changed those paths, so they were ok.

The problem was with the cache, but I thought I was not supposed to delete all the contents of the /cache folder, so I found only the files at the end of each path and deleted them.

After I did that, the Manager works fine again.

You can in fact just delete the cache directory (and all its contents) the directory and new contents will be re-created/created by 'the system'

I had a very similar thing occur.

Found all the changes I could for the config files, but still was told "Could not find action file at..."

I've updated my path in the workspaces table, and cleared the site cache more times than I can count easily using existing limbs, but still I get that darn "could not find action file" error.

So then I went and manually deleted the cache files. Actually, I just renamed the "cache" directory "cache_OLD" and then made a new blank "cache"directory.

Reloaded manager and now all I get is the menu bar at the top of the manager. The entire rest of the page is blank white -- no error messages, no nothing.

At least the SITE is still running, but as far as editing, I'm currently dead in the water with no ideas on progress. Any help would be sorely welcome!

I can't even log out of the manager -- nothing that pops a JS window seems to work.

I'd suggest deleting your new cache directory, renaming the old cache directory back to 'cache' and deleting the files in it. The new directory you created may not have the same permissions and ownership. Then, be sure to clear your browser cache *and cookies* before logging in.

Deleted all files in core/cache. This was the result:
                  500 Error
                  Site temporarily unavailable.

No chance to get to the backend/manager (hours of trying, browsing the web).
                  MacOS El Capitan 10.11.6; PHP 7.1.8; mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.19, for osx10.11 (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper;

Did local install with the help of this: http://dflect.net/diy-ampstack/ The "It works!" comes!
Good Manual, but doesn´t function with my (3) Sites. Even a new Installation (modx-2.5.0-pl UND modx-2.5.7-pl)
                  fails!
Permissions local are FP 755; on downwards Objects.

                  Please help!

seems there is something wrong with your environment.

                    fails

How far did you come, with the new Installation?

A Page called "Home" comes. At the right top a button with green background "Go to the manager" doesn´t function.
