Hi - this has probably been asked before, but I can't find the thread it would relate to (or know where to post this properly). I'm looking to implement a Zurb Foundation prototype website (hat-tip to Design from Within (I think he's @smoothgraphics on this forum, I can't remember - for his work on MODX-ing it).

Anyway, the point. The nav ends up similar to the one used on the MODX corporate site (flyout, with link and occasionally introtext). The question:

    1. Conceptually, should I bother to try and generate this dynamically, or should I create a chunk, or hard-wire it in the template?
    - It won't change that much/often, but I would like to have a version that clients could update without having to explain what chunks and templates are.

    2. If I were to generate it dynamically (even if it were to then be stored as a chunk, - that thread on a plugin that fires a Wayfinder snippet on event onDocFormSave springs to mind) - what would I be using? Wayfinder, as far as I can remember, can't access specific fields, but getResources won't folow a trail...)

    3. Any other clues/pointers (like I say, I'd be surprised if this hasn't come up before - so apologies for that)

Just to be clear, I want to create a menu that has items like this:

      - Parent
      {column1]
      -- Child title
      -- Child introtext
      -- Child title
      -- Child introtext
      -- Child title
      -- Child introtext
      {column 2]
      -- Child title
      -- Child introtext
      -- Child title
      -- Child introtext
      -- Child title
      -- Child introtext
      etc

I'm also a little hesitant to specify row-depth. I guess the way to do this is use a getResources array and iterate over it? Or perhaps rowBoat? The clunky way is to build column1 first, then go and getResources with an offset of 3 and build column 2 but I'm not sure how that then deals with an unknown number of child items....

Ok - these forums are never particularly busy at weekends anyway.

What I've done for now is use Wayfinder (I didn't realise it does pullthrough introtext) - and it all works fine. I would still like to create columns in the dropdown but I can live without it. If anyone does have any ideas or experience in this some hints would be appreciated though....
