I'm quite new at developing Revo components. I followed Bob's Guide on creating a new component with GetMyComponent, and Shaun's tutorial on creating an extra in MODx. Now, I am attempting to create my first extra, using these two resources as my guide.
I am following Shaun's example of developing outside of the MODx core, so I can keep my code in source control. All was going pretty well until I attempted to pull in the xPDO and MySql schema stuff. At the point in the tutorial where Shaun has you add
$m = $modx->getManager();
$created = $m->createObjectContainer('EventMgr');
return $created ? 'Table created.' : 'Table not created.';
I ran into trouble. When I run the snippet in my local dev installation, it cannot find the _mysql file that was generated by my _build/build.schema.php script.
I'm sure I can install my component, run it, and uninstall it, but I'm wondering if there is a better way. Is there a technique for configuring MODx to pull in this file from outside the core, similar to the technique Shaun describes in the beginning of the tutorial for pulling in a snippet from outside the core?
