    Hi,

I've just installed MODX version 2.2.0-pl2 and the installation worked fine with no error messages, however, although I can login to the backend with no problems I can't see anything under system settings and I can't logout. I've tried logging in with different browsers - IE9, Firefox, Chrome but they all have the same problem.

I've checked that core/config is writable and all the installation checks were fine.

I've installed this version of MODX before with no problems but on a different server so I'm wondering if it might be a server issue.

It's an Apache Server running PHP version 5.2.17 CGI
    MySQL version 5.1.56

Has anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly received. [ed. note: galahad5 last edited this post 14 years, 7 months ago.]

The first thing to try is manually deleting all files in the core/cache directory and clearing your browser cache and cookies.

If that doesn't work, try editing the modx_system_settings table in PhpMyAdmin and setting compress_js and compress_css to 0. Delete the cache files again after the change.

Thanks for the advice Bob. I've tried both your suggestions with no joy. sad

I'm just checking with my hosting provider to see if there is an issue with the server configuration.

It's bizarre. At first I thought it was working because the system settings finally displayed (although the loading time was very slow) but then I tried to browse to another tab and it lost the CSS and wouldn't logout. I was able to logout using FireFox although there was still an issue with browsing between tabs.

Maybe I'll have to remove the installation and try with Evolution instead.

It could well be an overloaded server.

          Anything in the error logs?

I think it must have been an issue with the version of PHP as I asked the hosting company to upgrade the account to PHP version 3 and it seems to have solved the issue.

            Thanks for your help.
