I am a newbie and need a little help. I am converting a rather large static website, 900 pages, to MODx Revolution, which I just installed on my server. A priority is the ability to find and replace text in all of my pages, because mass updates are required on a regular basis to my content. How can I find and replace the content on my pages? I found a module for Modx Evolution that allows me to do this but nothing for Revolution. So I'm guessing it may already be a function in Revolution and I just haven't found it yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd prefer to not downgrade to Evolution if possible.

I don't know of any extra that would do that in Revolution, although a simple utility snippet to do the replacements would be fairly easy to do.

Would it be possible to use placeholders, @INHERIT TVs, or System Settings for all the things that will need updating? What kind of things are you replacing?

The majority of things needing to be replaced would be prices that are listed in tables on the product pages. Sometimes we have sales, so I need to update the pages to show the sale prices. However, I would only feel comfortable with having the ability to find and replace anything I needed too. Since my boss makes changes on a whim. I went with MODx because of seo friendliness and I love that I can write the code for the pages without being bound to a crappy template structure. Trying to convince my boss that this would be a better solution than a 900 page static website, he's old school... I am just going to downgrade to Evolution, that way I know I will be able to do this simple but necessary function. Thanks for the help.

In an ideal world you shouldn't have price information in text, it should be held as a (template) variable associated with a product page, or better still, a product table. You might want to concentrate your effort on making your life easier going forward, rather than fixing the immediate issue.

+1. The whole point of using a CMS is having the view update automatically when the data changes.
