I read the following on the Articles RTFM for changing the default setting but am not sure I am doing it correctly or it is being applied correctly (see bold bulletpoint below).

Then, go into System Settings and find the following settings and change them:

"articles.default_container_template" - Change this to our BlogTemplate
"articles.default_article_template" - Change this to our BlogPostTemplate

This sets the default Template for Containers and Articles as you create them.

Can someone check that I am doing this correctly?

    • Goto System > System Settings > Core (drop down) > Articles
    • Right click on Default Article Template and choose Update Setting
    • A popup box appears.
    • It's Value drop down field is blank. Pick my new Template.
    • Value Drop down stays blank
    • Hit Save

Next time I create an Article, it still defaults to the old template.
    Thanks

Don't choose Update setting, just doubleclick on this entry, then click on Value field and select template.

Thanks for your help. Worked perfect.
I guess that's one for Mark to update although strictly speaking it's not a bug smiley
