    Hi guys,

I’m new to this but starting to get the hang of it: I’ve just created a blog using the wiki guide and it mostly works however there are a couple of things I could use a hand with.

I’ve created articles using the input form which all works fine, the articles are created but only partially exist on the blog page as the placeholders for some of the text don’t get filled: For example if I create an entry called ’Blog Title’ with summary ’This blog is about X’ on the blog page I will get:

’Blog Title’ ~ [+title+] Correctly filled
    Summary: ’’ ~ [+summary+] Empty value
    By ’’ ~ [+user+] Empty value
    Time ’10:45 (etc)’ ~ [+time+] Correctly filled
    Link ’’ ~ [+link+] Empty value

The strange thing is that the title placeholder and time work but the rest are returned empty any idea why is it something I need to configure? Where are the placeholder outputs configured?

    I’m using WAMP5 Apache, MODx 0.9.6, PHP5

startID->parents and summary->introtext (which is a field in the manager) ... see the guide for transitioning from Ditto 1.x to version 2 at the ditto support site for more help: http://ditto.modxcms.com/tutorials/upgrading-from-ditto-1-to-2.html

            Hi,

Thanks again for the help that was what I was after. I guess the wiki article refers to the previous version of Ditto but doesn’t mention the version number.

Now I’ve been here a little longer I thought I ought to add some info relation to this post for any searchers following the wiki how to on basic blogs.

The article refers to Ditto v1 not 2 and although most works as expected, to get the functionality in the article you will need to add the summary extender (&extenders=’summary’) in your Ditto call.

Obvious to many here but hopefully useful to beginners such as myself.

Perhaps someone who knows better than I could update the wiki? Not much to change guess.

              smiley
