    Hello,

    i'm attempting to build a members snippet, at this point they can send message between them.

    This is my BaseTemplate, as you can see i have to fetch the placeholders first before the <html> tag :
    [[!members]]<html>
    <head>
    <title> ...

    and later we display the placeholder in the content :
    <h1>[[*pagetitle]]</h1>
    [[+members.output]]

    It works fine but is it OK regarding the standards of modx ? is a plugin better than a snippet in thiscase ? is it mandatory that i register the service "members" ? thank you ! [ed. note: tulavu last edited this post 14 years, 7 months ago.]

      That should work fine as long as the members snippet returns "". You could put it anywhere, but normally, it would go in the body -- anywhere above the placeholders. You're not required to register the service.
