    Hi there,

Although I 've been using MODx Evo for quite sometime now, I 've just started development with the newest version, Revolution.
Before I begin actual development though, I would like to know how to use XPDo, especially with custom tables. Can someone point out a link to where I can find a tutorial or relevant information?
A plain Google search was not that helpful...

Thank you in advance for your reply

This tutorial is a good starter for getting to know xpdo and custom tables

I would say Bob's page for custom tables is definitely a brilliant start: http://bobsguides.com/custom-db-tables.html

Also comes with reverse-engineering snippet from mysql table to schema. Which I tend to use quite lot when generating the schema
Almost retired from web-development industry but still randomly writing at Lazylegs.info and on schedule hopefully in near future to finish Oracle and PostgreSQL ports of MODX

Thank you both for your replies.

I managed to make it work at a very basic point, but I was wondering, is there a point of getting into all this trouble for custom tables?
I mean, it seems a bit complicated (to me, at least) having to create the necessary classes for every table (and having to recreate them I guess when, for example, an extra field is added), and then how does one perform complicated joins between these custom tables.
I guess that after a while and some practice, it will become more straightforward, but I was wondering what is the general idea about all this, do developers usually do it this way?
