As 0ad is a customer of mine I’ve tried to replicate this problem on one of my test domains using 0.9.6 when trying to upload a 2.5mb mov file it seems to error (no errors shown to me) but then the /connectors/php directory gets deleted I guess this might be related so i’ve just put a request in to have this bug tracker re-opened.

I reopened the bug. Have you tried the latest release of FCKeditor? I’m guessing the solution will be found somewhere in the MCPuck support universe...

Another thing to check is to see if your PHP config has a limit set for file uploads. Not sure what the default is...but if you check the phpinfo it should tell you what the limit is.

Cheers for the response,
We changed the following for the test domain
max_input_time = 3000
max_execution_time = 1000 (50 mins)
upload_max_filesize = 30 mb
I will check out the world of fck and try some updates maybe that might help, I will let you all know the outcome.

I forgot to ask do you have any pointed for upgrading or is it just a case of replacing the media\browser folder and hoping for the best

I’m not happy that the bug has just been closed with this comment:

Kind of bogus to me. I’ve never seen this happen. Umm...the entire manager\media\browser\mcpuk\connectors\php deleting itself when an upload fails? Seems a bit suspect to me! Let’s close it till further notice.

Its not bogus and its been tried on many modx sites on the server.

Here’s an update so far.
Installed the latest version of FCKEditor browser, it uploads small files fine but does not upload large ones over 2mb - How ever it does not delete the /php/ dir.
So I’m now going to do some research in the FCK World
Due to the bug being closed i’m now also going to rule out my server with two tests.
a) another server with IIS, PHP mysql
b) FoxServe an apache install (i reckon this bug is a none issue on apache).

Is the max upload limit in PHP set to 2MB ... the default?
