Publish Date don't work?

Hi Guys,

I've got a working installation of MODX 1.0.5 at GoDaddy, and while everything seems to work fine out of the box, I've noticed that the automatic publishing feature doesn't work. I've been testing this and whenever I create a new resource and set the publish date to publish a minute later, hitting the Refresh Site Tree button after that minute has passed doesn't show the resource as a published one. To publish it, I have to edit the resource and make sure the publish date meets the system date before I save it, then the tree refreshes with the new state. But with other MODX sites I've installed, I don't encounter this problem - documents set to publish sometime in the future do so automatically. Has anyone else encountered this? Any solutions I can look into?

Just an update. So it's not really a bug. After reading a post by Bob here:

I figured out what this "problem" was. Basically there needs to be a visitor accessing the frontend before the published state is changed. If there's none, hitting the Refresh Tree button won't do anything. To explicitly publish the document just from the backend, one will need to explicitly see it published, though a visit to the frontend page will do the trick.

Hope this helps anyone else who's encountered this.

Found also that in Revo, Published On does not always "take" - but if I change Published Date, it copies it's value to the Published On date, and clears itself, and the value does hold.

A simple checkbox is much desired and gone missing I guess. Manager UI changes seem for the manager arbitrary and not coordinated (my common complaint... but I digress).

Selecting "Publish Resource" on the context menu of the Tree always works.

There's still a "Published" checkbox, but it's not on the same tab as the publication dates.
