Switch off search

Can't switch off searchable in articles. Whilst I'm developing it for a client (in the absence of an alternative staging -> live system) I don't want end users to find the blog.

For now I've edited the database directly and set searchable = 0

Actually even though Articles are resoures several of the parameters from the standard settings tab seem to be missing?
