I too am new to ModX and I need to get a rotating banner up and running. By the way, I love ModX, I think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread! Anyway, getting to the point my client wants a flash like header that will rotate images on the homepage only. I’ve been using ModX for only a few hours now and already have it installed and working correctly, but since I’m not a developer I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the TV’s I assume that’s what I need to make this thing work like I want it to.

My plan is to use Smoothgallery (Mootools + JonDesign) to rotate the images of the header, but I have no clue where to start with the TV and how to implement it. I just want to be able to tell Smoothgallery to only work on the homepage and revert to the standard header on all subsequent pages. Do I make any sense? I’m NOT having a problem with Smoothgallery, I just can’t get started with the TV’s. Please help. Many thanks.

      Hi,

you could easily achieve what you’re looking for without TV.

Have a look at Phx plugin. It allows conditionnal displaying.

Here is a sample of how you could do

      [*id:is=`[(site_start)]`:then=`[[Maxigalery_with_params_to_use_smooth]]`:else=``*]

      :-)

Thanks for the quick reply. I will definitely look into that. I’ll get back on Monday, I’m heading home for the day. Thanks again for your quick, helpful reply.

I think I’ve found a gem in ModX - Great product, great help! Kudos to the developers!
