I built a website in ModX Revo 2.2 and have it's site_status set to offline. When logged in to the manager everything works as a charm, people who are not logged in see the page I set to be the unavailable-page, no problems there.
However, now I'm finished I wanna put the site_status to online, but when I do people who are not logged in to the manager don't see a thing, but a 404...
What am I doing wrong? Should I create a usergroup or something for regular visitors?
    Plz help!

FYI: I have a resource group called "All pages" wich contains, well..., all pages smiley
The user group "(Anonymous)" has access policy set to load, list and view/context: web for the res-group "all pages"...

Assuming your pages are all published, it sounds like it might have something to do with the resource group. I'm not clear on why you would want to have a resource group containing all pages -- I thought the idea of resource groups is to restrict access to certain pages to only certain users. If you want everyone to see everything, you don't need a resource group, just give anonymous users load, list and view for the web context without any resource groups at all.

Other than that, it's hard to say...

Thanx @freejung. I'm still figuring out the security things in Revo, and have a hard time with it. I created the resource group for a 'editor'-user to see all pages in the manager, could probably be done in a different way...
Anyway, back to the problem; It seems like it was a caching problem, all is working well now!

If resources are not in any Resource Group, they are unprotected and anyone can see them. If the context of the ACL entry connecting a Resource Group to a User Group is 'mgr' it won't have any effect in the front end, only the Manager.

The only reason for creating a group with all docs in it is when you want to hide all docs except a few from some users.

            Hope that helps.
