How do I force a weblink to open in a new window?

Before anybody suggests it, I’d like to add that I did both of the following:
      1. set link attributes to target="_blank"
      2. cleared the cache.

have you checked the source code of the page to see what attributes are being produced, if any at all?

at least this will be a first step in troubleshooting to find the problem.

I’m not sure if I have this right, but it looks like modxcms is using a snippet called WayFinder to build the menu options whereas it used to use something called DropMenu.

Though the manager does persist the link_attributes stuff (verified by checking db), I can’t find any references to link_attributes in the WayFinder (2.0) source.

OK, Looks like I’ve figured it out. The "MODxHost Menu" chunks are missing a couple attributes.

            I changed mh.RowTpl
            from
            <li class="category [+wf.classnames+]"><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]">[+wf.linktext+]</a>[+wf.wrapper+]</li>

            to
            <li class="category [+wf.classnames+]"><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]" [+wf.attributes+]>[+wf.linktext+]</a>[+wf.wrapper+]</li>

            and mh.InnerRowTpl
            from
            <li[+wf.classes+]><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]">[+wf.linktext+]</a>[+wf.wrapper+]</li>

            to
            <li[+wf.classes+]><a href="[+wf.link+]" title="[+wf.title+]" [+wf.attributes+]>[+wf.linktext+]</a>[+wf.wrapper+]</li>

Did I do something wrong on my install that I had to manually change these chunks?
