HI
My host upgraded to a new server and every time I save the page I get the \ added before and " symbols, my only fix right now is to go into the database table and remove the \ there not exactly the ideal.
I spoke to the host who checked the server setting and got back to tell me that magic quotes is turned off.
I am using MODx evo 1.0.3 does anyone know if there is anything else that can cause this or is the host telling me wrong, due to there security settings I cant see info on magic quotes using php info.
Thanks all
Ian
That sure sounds like magic_quotes_gpc is on.
Something here might help:
http://php.net/manual/en/security.magicquotes.disabling.php.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE, PLEASE specify the version of MODX you are using . . . PLEASE!
MODx info for everyone:

Yep I am pretty sure thats the issue it cant be anything else so I guess its time to look for a new host, I did try and disable them in the .htaccess file but that caused the internal server error message which I guess is because of some other security issue that's turned on so I am pretty much out of options.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts and the link.
Many thanks
Ian

<?php
echo get_magic_quotes_gpc();

Since I don't have a life, I spend a lot of time just browsing through the PHP documentation. Lots of neat stuff hardly anybody knows about.
