    Hi !!
1_ on a page, i would like to make an link to another one, for now, instead of writing the entire url, i use this :

    <a href="[~5~]">linktext</a>

but is possible to use this with aliases ( much easier to remember ... ), i tried to use <a href="[*alias*]">text</a>, but that outputed a link to my homepage ... weird .....

2_ is possible to make a link to the next/previous article ( according to the menu index numbers ), for example i would write [[nextarticle]] on a page, i will output a link to the next article ( according to the menu index ), but when i change the order of the pages in the menu, then that link is updated

( i know ditto can do this with pagination, but with ditto the next/previous links "includes" the documents content in the page where ditto i called, it doesn’t redirect to that page isn’t it ? )

    thanks

      1. Of course that would make a link to the home page; all [*...*] variables are in reference to the document being processed. Therefor it would create a link using the alias of whatever page is being viewed.

      2. Ditto can use a chunk of your devising as a template. If you don’t want a documents’ content displayed, then just use what placeholders you want to display in the template. Wayfinder is also extremely flexible in how you can configure it and create templates for it to display.

_yeah the [*..*] refers the the current document, but is there any way to create a link to any page, with its alias ??, for example a [[link?alias=`somealias`]], that would create a link to the somealias page huh

_ for the next/previous links, for example in the root folder, i have 3 pages :
        /page1.html menuindex=1
        /page2.html menuindex=2
        /page3.html menuindex=3
in the content of page 1, i would to create a link to page2, but if i change the menuindex values, i would like that link to be updated

how can i do this with ditto ?? ditto aggregates documents in another page ( like a blog ), but i don’t want those 3 pages to be viewed from another one, but just next/previous links on each of these 3 pages, linking to the next/prev page according to the menuindex values.
( for example instead of getchildrenids or getparentid, that function would need a "getbrotherid" )

        thanks

Jason also created a plugin so you could create links using their alias.
