    Hey guys!

    Quick question, seems stupid but I've got the feeling this isn't working. I've got 2 TVs assigned to my template. slideshowImage and slideshowColor. Both work fine with I use them [[+tv.slideshowImage]] when &includeTVs=`1` and &processTVs=`1`. However, to lighten the load and improve the caching/speed, I wanted to use the new 1.4.0 >= feature TVList. Both won't work in conjunction with their predecessor includeTVs (so includeTVs=`1` and processTVList=`tv,tv` or includeTVList=`tv,tv` and processTVs=`1`).

    Is this a bug or a default behaviour which I am totally not getting?

    Tx in advance guys! [ed. note: ReSpawN last edited this post 14 years, 8 months ago.]

      Check the documentation; the new operators are for the tvFilters property, nothing to do with includeTVList and processTVList, which allow you to explicitly limit which Template Variables are included and/or processed.

        Errm, either I'm misunderstanding you or we're totally missing each others points.

        Basically what I am trying to accomplish is, out of 6 TVs linked to the resources template, only to include and parse/process 2 specific ones instead of all 6 which I don't need and will save a bit of performance. Thus the question remains, are includeTVList and processTVList exactly for that purpose or for the tvFilters like you described?

        The documentation clearly states;

        "An optional comma-delimited list of TemplateVar names to include explicitly if includeTVs is 1 "
        "An optional comma-delimited list of TemplateVar names to process explicitly. TemplateVars specified here must be included via includeTVs/includeTVList "

        First off I found one of my bugs in the reasoning here on my end, I need includeTVs to be set to 1 first in order to fetch 2 specific out of a total of 6 template variables. Second, I can't see any relation to the tvFilters property which you are referring to.

        Please correct me if I'm wrong but either something is going awry in translation (yes, in my head tongue) or I'm totally misunderstanding your point thus the functionality of the two new 1.4.0 + properties.

        Tx Jason.

          I guess I misread, I thought you were saying you wanted to use ">=" with processTVList. And yes, you have to include whatever TV's you want to process, with
          &includeTVs=`1`
          and (optionally)
          &includeTVList=`tv1,tv2`
          . [ed. note: opengeek last edited this post 14 years, 8 months ago.]

            That clears things up quite a bit. wink I noticed that using ` in the content here is kinda messing stuff up...

            Thanks, I've got it fixed now!
