Hi, I've just picked up modx in the last couple of days with my first successful instal onto my server. As a first time user (having installed modx 2.2.0) i'm getting to grips with how this all works by setting up my first modx site (a retro fit). How do my clients manage / edit their websites? Is this done the same way that i've been logging into the admin and making changes there?
For example, in tutorial videos, i notice that when documents are previewed, there appears to be a floating editor (i think it's called quick update) and this displays on the front end. If this is no longer available in say the latest version of modx that i'm using, then is there an alternative?
Also, how are website images managed by users? for example, how are they added / replaced and then assigned titles, descriptions etc.. I'm totally new to this so any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click on the resource/chunk/snippet/etc. It's titled Quick Update in the pop up.
I'll let someone else who has more experience with user editing in the real world answer the other questions.
Thanks, but when i right click and select Quick Update (in this case by right clicking on the 'document' in the Resource tab) it just opens another window identical to what i was already looking at, and still within the back-end admin. I think the device i'm talking about is called Quick Edit.. it appears to be a content editor that displays on the front-end of a given page, like a floating widget that has drop down menus for say clients to use when they want to update page content. I see it many times in tutorials and videos but can't seem to find it on my modx.

I wonder if that's part of the Frontpage plugin? You'll find that in package management.
I think the closest thing we have to that right now is NewsPublisher with the NpEditThisButton. The button shows up in the front end and lets logged-in users edit that page.
Unlike the old QuickEdit, it lets you edit the whole page rather than having a button for each field. It can be set up with a button for each field, but it's not very convenient.
