    Hi,

I've just moved a site from a subfolder into the root, but the manager is giving a 500 error.
i've changed all the paths in the core/config/config.inc.php file as well as in /config.core.php, /connectors/config.core.php and /manager/config.core.php.

    I've deleted the cache.

What else do I need to do?

Do I need to change something in the database?

    Thanks in advance!

The 500 error most often comes from an error or illegal line in the .htaccess file. There may have already been an .htaccess file in the new MODX root directory that's causing trouble. Be careful, because you if your host put it there, you may need to integrate it with the MODX .htaccess file (installed as ht.access -- which is ignored).

        Hi,

Just to update, the manager came back on line of its own accord when I tried it this morning. No idea why I had a problem before.

Whoops spoke too soon! It worked for five minutes then went back to 500!
          Why??
          • Sounds to me like you need to have a long talk with your hosting tech support.

Yeah, that's what it must be
              • Come to think of it, somebody else was reporting problems with the front end of two of their sites, and it turned out to be something was corrupting the index.php files. You might want to check that out as well.

Did you uninstall an extra by any chance?
I'm getting 500 Errors after uninstalling Gallery (turned out I didn't need it). Strangely enough the errors weren't consistant on some pages, others would always error out. Couldn't find anything in modx's error log either.
Reinstalling Gallery fixed that - I'm keeping it that way for now.
                  • This is happening on a previously fully functional 2.2.0-pl2 site (about 3w worth of functionality).

Started with chrome locking me out supposedly due to Anti-DDoS HTTP Throttling in Chrome. I disabled the throttling and went to open house for high school with my boy. After a few hours, waiting for chrome to let me back in, no go.

Cleared cache manually via ftp, which took over three tries to get everything to disappear. (odd?) Clear browser cache, re-enter to manager... works.

Then it doesn't work... and then it does yet there's no resource tree. Clear cache again manually which takes multiple passes again... get a resource tree but no packages and it can't connect to the repository either.

On and on this dance goes with every manager bug that's been reported lately showing up. No tree, blank page with menus that don't work, no tree, partial tree, full tree and non-working menus... you name it I saw it.

Oh, and tons of 500 errors in-between any of the partially functioning managers. Back to 500 error now and clearing the cache isn't working anymore. I'm out of ideas.

I've set the compress_js, compress_css, and concat_js to 0. It was concat_js that got the best results, but it again has gone wonky.

This is a sub-directory on shared hosting. In development.
Any ideas? This isn't an install issue. It's been working great up till now.
I'm back to 500 error now, grrrr
