Sure (see
the MODx documentation for more info).
so it sounds like i should be able to add a hack such that based on $_SERVER["HOST_NAME"] i could display only content nodes belonging to a particular document group...
...and you should also be able to forward to the correct "home" page based on the domain name. Keep in mind that your site will only have one real home, error, and unauthorized page (that is, one each), so you should create those with snippets to forward to their respective subpages based on the domain name. And make sure that you get the latest version of AjaxSearch from the Repository, since I believe it’s the first to incorporate web group permissions into its results.
alternatives to forwarding?
an htaccess at the web root with a parameter being passed for each domain name?
Actually, I think it’s been less than that between releases over the last couple years or so...

If you can program, php or javascript, check out the open bug reports and feature requests (see "Bugs & Support" link at the top of this page) and see if you can fix any of them!
If you or any friends or relatives can make up translated language files, that also would help.
Set up a development environment, and install and test the latest from SVN, reporting any problems you run into. Even better, if you can, fix it then report the problem with the fix.
