Gallery: is there way to upload images to album from front-end?

We have developed a web site where user can login to her own page.
We have Gallery addon (http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Gallery.Gallery) in use.
I was wondering if there is a way to add images to a certain gallery album from the front end using FileUpload or similar?
So on user's own page she could see her album and add pictures to that.
Or is the only way to add images to Gallery from Manager side?

AFAIK, you can't do this with Gallery in Revo. You can upload photos from the front end with MaxiGallery but that only works with Evolution.

You might want to make a minimal stripped down user identity in the Manager that will allow your users can upload photos via Gallery...

I actually was able to do this in the front-end. But I needed to tweak FileUpload ( modify it for my needs ) and then reverse-engineer gallery database table structures. When file was uploaded, I made database query to update the database and copied the file to correct location.

This sounds like exactly what I need! Are you able to share how you achieved this? Can this be added to the gallery or fileupload snippet?
